Leadership experts highlight the importance of developing improved self awareness at recent Hospitality Leadership Forum.
At last week’s Oxford Brookes Hospitality Leadership Forum held at The Savoy in London, industry and leadership experts presented their views and stimulated debate on Leadership and Talent Development, Business Innovation and Responsible Business Practices.
During her presentation on Leadership and Talent Development Professor Beverley Alimo-Metcalfe, CEO The Real World Group, commented that:
“We can’t rely on the leadership models of the past as these models are being challenged and are evolving. Great leaders listen and learn and have self awareness”
She went onto share her top tips for effective leaders:
· Develop self awareness
· Align the vision of your organisation with the vision of your colleagues
· Focus on personal development plans
· Encourage a coach/mentor culture within the organisation or team
